Update

Hey allemaal!

Zoals jullie misschien wel gemerkt hebben, ben ik al een tijdje afwezig op mijn blog (net als mijn comments op andere blogs). Nadat ik terugkwam van vakantie ben ik meteen beginnen werken en het was een beetje een aanpassingsperiode. Ik weet echt niet hoe sommige bloggers hun studies/werk, blog, andere hobby's en een sociaal leven combineren. Ik ben er duidelijk niet goed in. 

Anyway vanaf nu terug regelmatigere blogposts. Te beginnen met een kleine update over mijn vakantie!

As you may or may not have noticed, I've been a little bit MIA. After I came back from Ibiza, I immediately started working and this was kind of a adjustment period. I really don't know how some bloggers juggle having a full time job/studies, a blog, other hobbies and a social life. I'm obviously not very good at it.

Anyway, from now of on back to more regular posts, starting with a little update of my vacation in Ibiza.

Nail polish collection: first part

vandaag laat ik jullie het eerste deel van mijn nagellakcollectie zien. Ik heb vooral China Glaze lakjes en oude Catrice lakjes. Mijn favoriete lakjes zijn echter die van Essie, ook al heb ik er daar nog niet veel van. Deze nagellak blijft echt super lang zitten en lakt heel goed.

In today's post I'll show you the first part of my nail polish collection. Most of my collection consists of China Glaze and old Catrice polishes. My favorite ones are from Essie, they have great staying power and I love the quality. 

Dit zijn al mijn roze nagellakjes (eentje ontbreekt, een liquid sand Magazine Cover Mouse, die momenteel op mijn kot in Leuven ligt).

These are all of my pink polishes (one is missing - Magazine Cover Mouse - because it's at my dorm).

Deze crackle polish van China Glaze kocht ik tijdens de hele crackle hype. Het is echt absoluut niks voor mij, het lijkt heel slordig op mijn korte nagels en ik gebruik deze dan ook nooit. Zonde van het weggegooide geld.

I bought this China Glaze crackle during the whole hype. It's not for me, it looks quite messy on my short nails and I therefore never use it. This was a waste of money. 

Dit is een lakje dat mijn mama kocht. Fifth Avenue van China Glaze, heel neutraal. Ik draag het zelf niet vaak.

108 degrees van China Glaze. Een van mijn favorieten voor de zomer en dat zie je eraan. Deze is al meermaals gebruikt. Super hot pink, met roze en blauwe shimmer.

Deze nagellak komt uit de Astrid Bryan collectie voor OPI en was een cadeautje van een van mijn beste vriendinnen. Amazing California Love.

Dit is een heel oud lakje van Catrice, geen idee of die nog in de collectie zit. Big Spender Wanted is een roze kleur, met gouden shimmer. Deze heb ik vroeger veel op mijn tenen gedragen.

New in: Twice As Nice ring

Ik kreeg van mijn mama een cadeautje omdat ik een job heb gevonden. Jaja jullie lezen het goed, na al die paniek in een van mijn vorige posts, heb ik nu toch een job! Tijdens de jaarmarkt in Leuven kocht ze deze ring voor mij. Mooi rosé goud (ja ik ben nog steeds fan) en een witte steen. Ik ben er echt super blij mee, dus danku mama!

My mother bought me a little present, because I found a job. Yes indeed, after my little panic attack in one of my previous posts, I now have a job! She bought the ring in Twice As Nice. It's rose gold (still digging this!) and a white stone. I'm suuuuper happy with it, so thank you mommy!

Review: Yves Rocher Autobronzant Spray

Naast mijn rode haar, ben ik ook gezegend met een heel licht huidje. Ik vind dit eigenlijk best mooi, zeker in de winter. In de zomer betekent het oppassen geblazen. Ik vermijd de zon zoveel mogelijk en gebruik factor 50. In dit seizoen heb ik echter ook soms behoefte aan een gebruind huidje, zeker als ik witte kleding draag of in blote benen rondloop. De oplossing is dan: zelfbruiner. 

Except from my red hair, I'm also blessed with a very light skin tone. I quite like this, especially during winter time. In the summer it means I have to be extra careful. I stay out of the sun as much as possible and always use spf 50. However, sometimes I like to have a sun kissed skin, especially when wearing white clothes or running around with bare legs. The solution: self tanner. 

Tot nu toe gebruikte ik altijd bodylotions die zelfbruiner bevatten, die moet je dan een paar dagen opbouwen. "Echte" hardcore zelfbruiner schrikte mij altijd een beetje af. Een paar dagen geleden probeerde ik toch de Yves Rocher Autobronzant Spray op aanraden van iemand anders. Ik ben zeer aangenaam verrast, een egale bruine huid en geen strepen of vlekken! 

Up until now I always used the body lotions that contain a little bit of self tanner. This one you have to use a couple of days in a row and build up your color. I always found real "hardcore" self tanner a little bit scary. A couple of days ago I tried the Yves Rocher Autobronzant Spray, because someone recommended it to me. I'm really surprised: no stripes and blotchy skin. 

Het product zit in een sprayflacon, die heel gemakkelijk werkt, je hebt ook voldoende tijd om het product uit te smeren. Ik ben wel extra voorzichtig geweest bij mijn ellebogen, knieën en enkels en daar heb ik het heel goed in mijn huid gewerkt. Ik had mijn lichaam voordien niet gescrubt, omdat ik er geen had op mijn kot. Geweldig dat ook zonder deze voorgaande stap mijn huid mooi egaal bruin is geworden. 

The product comes in a spray bottle and this works really well. You also have enough time to work the product into your skin. I was extra careful around my elbows, knees and ankles. I didn't scrub my skin beforehand, because I didn't have any in my dorm room. Awesome that even without this step, my skin turned out beautifully tanned.

Diva Big Hot Wand review

Vandaag heb ik een review & demo voor jullie. Ik kocht een aantal jaar geleden de Diva Big Hot Wand. Dit is een GIGA curling wand (13mm-25mm) met een flashy roze kleur. Omdat ik super lang haar heb, leek het mij praktischer om te werken met een grote krultang. Ik vind de look van grotere krullen/waves persoonlijk ook mooier.

Today I have a review & a demo of a curling wand. I bought the Diva Big Hot Wand a couple of years ago. It's gigantic (13mm-25mm) and is pink. I bought such a big wand, because I have very long hair and it seemed more practical and quick. I also like the look of bigger curls and waves more.

De tang wordt snel warm (+-30 seconden op 180°C) en je kan zelf de temperatuur instellen met een draaiwieltje (140°C - 200°C). Mijn tang werd niet geleverd met een hitte bestendige handschoen (al heb ik online gelezen dat dat nu wel het geval zou zijn), dus je moet goed oppassen dat je je vingers niet verbrandt. Ik heb soms ook een beetje moeite om een goede positie te vinden om de tang vast te houden, juist omdat ze zo groot is. Verder werkt deze wand enorm goed. De krullen blijven niet langer dan een dag in mijn haar, maar dat gebeurt met alle andere tangen die ik gebruikt heb ook nooit (en die doen het eigenlijk veel slechter). Ik heb heel lang haar (voor het grootste deel zonder laagjes) en mijn haar krullen en de krul vasthouden is een grote opgave. Met deze tang lukt dat dus vrij goed, zeker als ik de krul vastpin op mijn hoofd, zodat ze kan afkoelen. 

The wand heats up pretty fast (+- 30 seconds on 180°C) and you can change the temperature from 140°C to 200°C. My wand didn't come with a protective glove, so you have to be careful with your fingers (I however read online that nowadays you get a glove). Sometimes I have some difficulties finding the right position for holding the wand, because it's just SO big. Besides that, it does it job very well. I have really hard to curl hair and with this wand my curls stay in for a day (other curling irons don't do that). I pin the curls on top of my hair to cool down, so that holds the curl better as well. 

De Diva Big Hot Wand is gemaakt van titanium. Dit materiaal wordt sneller warm en wordt overal even warm. Hierdoor kan je je haar veel sneller krullen.  Titanium is bovendien heel duurzaam en boost het vrijgeven van negatieve ionen, waardoor je glanzend haar krijgt. 

The Diva Big Hot Wand is made of titanium. This material heats up faster and gets hot evenly throughout the whole wand. This combination assures a fast curling process. Titanium is also very durable and boosts the release of negative ions, giving you shinier hair. 

De tang heeft standaard een UK stekker, maar je kan die losmaken en daaronder is een EU stekker te vinden. 

The wand comes with a UK plug, but you can take that off and underneath there is a EU plug.

Ibiza

Wanneer bijna iedereen terug is van vakantie,  weer aan het werk is of al terug naar school, kan ik nog beginnen met genieten. In september ga ik namelijk nog een weekje naar Ibiza. 

When everyone has returned from their vacation and is back at work, I still have to leave! In september I'm going to Ibiza for a week.

Een week gevuld met zon (hopelijk dan toch), strand, cocktails en feestjes. Het is de eerste keer dat ik naar "the white island" trek en ik kijk er enorm naar uit. Ik ga met mijn twee beste vriendinnen van de universiteit om min of meer onze studentenjaren af te sluiten. 

A week filled with loads of sunshine (hopefully), beaches, cocktails and parties. It's the first time that I'm visiting the white isle and I'm looking forward to it A LOT. I'm going with my two best friends from uni to sort of say goodbye to our student years.

Er is nog niets écht gepland, buiten twee feestjes waar we graag naartoe willen en dus al online tickets voor hebben besteld. Op woensdag gaan we naar de closing party van Departures in Ushuaia en op donderdag naar de closing party van Cream in Amnesia. We gaan waarschijnlijk ook nog een nacht naar Space, maar we hebben nog geen ticket gekocht daarvoor.

We haven't planned a lot yet, except for two parties we really want to go to. We already booked online tickets for that (just to be sure, you know). On wednesday we're going to the Departures closing party in Ushuaia and on thursday to the Cream closing party in Amnesia. We will most likely visit Space too, but we haven't bought tickets for that yet. 

We logeren in het hotel Fiesta Don Toni in Playa D'en Bossa. Het lijkt me een heel goede locatie, dicht tegen Space, Ushuaia, Bora Bora en niet ver van Eivissa.

Wat ik buiten zonnen en feesten nog graag zou willen doen

Except from sunbathing and partying, I would like to do the following activities: 

• de oude stad (Dalt Vila) bezoeken in Eivissa/Visit the old town Dalt Vila
• de zonsondergang bekijken aan café del mar/Watch the sunset in café del mar
• eventueel een hippiemarkt bezoeken/ visit a hippie market

Ik kijk er écht enorm naar uit. De volgende week post ik nog wel een aantal Ibiza-gerelateerde blogartikels en na afloop krijgen jullie natuurlijk een verslag.

30 before 30

Een aantal dagen geleden kwam ik terecht op deze blog. Het doel: 30 items van haar bucket list strepen voor haar 30ste levensjaar.

A couple of days ago I found this blog. The goal: tick 30 things of her bucket list before she turned 30. 

Ik moet bekennen dat ik de laatste maanden zelf een beetje worstel met een soort "identiteitscrisis". Is dat niet iets voor 13-jarige pubers hoor ik je denken? Wel ik heb er nu meer dan ooit last van. Ik ben bijna afgestudeerd van de KU Leuven (tweede masterdiploma), ik moet enkel nog een thesis schrijven volgend academiejaar. Dan rijst de vraag, waar combineren we die thesis mee? Op zoek naar een voltijdse of parttime job? Nog een lerarenopleiding erbij? De jobs zijn blijkbaar toch niet voor het oprapen, heb ik de laatste maanden gemerkt.

I have to admit that I've been struggling with kind of an identity crisis myself the last months. Isn't that something for a 13 year old hitting puberty? Well I've been dealing with this more than aver. I'm almost graduated from KU Leuven (second master's degree), I only have to write my master dissertation next year. The question then becomes what i'll do with the rest of my time? Look for a part time or full time job? Get a degree to be a teacher? One thing I discovered is that it's not easy to find a job. 

Mijn woonplaats was het volgende dilemma waar ik mee worstelde. Alhoewel, dilemma, ik wist maar al te goed waar ik wilde wonen: in Leuven. Spijtig genoeg zijn de appartementen hier te duur voor mensen zonder job ;). Ik kan wel nog een jaartje op mijn kot blijven, omdat ik dus mijn thesis nog moet schrijven.

The place where I would live was the next dilemma on my list. However, it wasn't that much of a dilemma as it was a question of money. I want to stay in Leuven (the city where I go to school at the moment). Pity that the apartments are quite expensive here (certainly for people without a job ;)). Luckily I'm able to stay for another year in my dorm, because I still have to write my dissertation. 

Verder vind ik het gewoon heel moeilijk om afscheid te nemen van het studentenleven. Het is echt een super fijne periode die nu wordt afgesloten. Ik heb het gevoel dat er alleen maar onzekerheid volgt. Tot nu toe was alles mooi voor je uitgestippeld: kleuterklas-lagere school-middelbare school-universiteit. Ik vind het ook zo raar dat ik "al" 23 ben (ook al zie ik er dan veel jonger uit). Vroeger leken mensen van 23 zo oud, die hadden heel hun leven al voor elkaar, een job, een huis, misschien al getrouwd of een vaste relatie. Ik vind dat ik nog helemaal niet pas in die levensstijl. Begrijp me niet verkeerd, ik ben ook heel benieuwd naar wat er komen gaat. Het is waarschijnlijk gewoon die overgangsfase die even onzeker en chaotisch verloopt en daarna valt alles wel weer in de plooi. Ik hoor in mijn omgeving ook dat meerdere mensen worstelen met dat beeld van de toekomst, ik ben dus gelukkig niet alleen.

Apart from that I've got quite a difficult time leaving my student years behind me. It was such an awesome time in my life with awesome people. The road ahead only shows me insecurities at the moment. Until now, everything was planned out really nicely: kindergarten, elementary school, secondary school, university. I also find it quite weird that i'm "already" 23 (although everyone keeps telling me I look like 16). These were the thoughts that came to my mind when I used to think of 23 year: they're all grown-up, they've got their lives together, a job, house, married or in a steady relationship. Well my life looks nothing like that (not that I want that already). Don't get me wrong after this whole speech though. I'm quite curious about what's coming. This whole thing is probably just a phase that's uncertain and chaotic and after a while everything will turn out okay. Other people in my environment confirm that they have been going through sort of the same thing, so luckily I'm not alone.

In ieder geval, terug naar het échte punt van deze blogpost. Omdat ik het gevoel heb dat het leven zo snel vooruit gaat en al op weg ben naar de 25 (en daarna 30 jaar *SHOCKER*), vond ik het ook wel leuk om zo'n lijstje op te stellen. Ik heb nog getwijfeld om er 25 under 25 van te maken, maar dat leek me toch te kort om alles af te vinken (gebrek aan money helloooo). Dus ziehier mijn 30 things under 30 (PS: veel reisgerelateerde items!)

Anyway, back to the real point of this blogpost! Because I have the feeling that life's going so fast and I'm almost 25 (and after that 30 *little bit of exaggeration here*), I decided to make my own 30 under 30 list. For a moment I wanted to make a 25 under 25 list, but that would have been too tight (budget and time wise). With proud I present you my 30 things under 30 (PS: a lot of travel related stuff!)

30 UNDER 30 

1. Run a marathon

Lijkt me heel cool om te kunnen. Dan moet ik natuurlijk wel eerst een pak meer discipline gaan kweken (en een conditie, ook vrij essentieel).

I would love to be able to do this. At the moment I'm not in shape whatsoever, so this should be a real challenge. 

2. Fun vacation after I graduate

Ik ga in september naar Ibiza met de twee beste vriendinnen uit mijn studentenjaren, dus dat komt zeker in orde!

I'm going to Ibiza in september with my two best friends that I met at university, so that's a definite check. 

3. Visit all continents

4. Learn to play the piano

Dit wilde ik als kind al, maar mocht ik spijtig genoeg niet van mijn mama. Ja vreemd hé, de meeste ouders moedigen hun kinderen aan om een instrument te leren spelen. Ik denk dat de mijne vooral het "lawaai"niet zag zitten. 

I wanted to learn this since I was a child, my mother wouldn't let me. Yes really weird, most parents encourage their children to learn to play an instrument. I think mine was a little bit afraid of the 'noise'. 

5. Learn a new language

Eerst moet ik mijn Frans terug goed onder de knie krijgen (daar werk ik dit jaar aan) en dan zou ik graag nog een 4e taal leren. Welke? daar ben ik nog niet uit: Spaans, Duits & Chinees zeggen mij wel iets (al is de laatste waarschijnlijk te moeilijk). 

First I have to freshen up my French (Working on it this year) and after that I would like to learn a 4th language. Which one? Undecided: Spanish, German and Chinese appeal to me (although that last one would be a real challenge). 

6. Visit the Taj Mahal

7. Roadtrip through the US

Mensen van over heel de wereld willen "backpacken"doorheen Europa en ik wil zelf ook graag zien wat ons continent te bieden heeft. De vrijheid van zo'n interrail pas spreekt me erg aan.

People from all over the world want to backpack through Europe and I really want to see as well what my continent has to offer. The freedom of an interrail pass really appeals to me.

12. Learn how to ski or snowboard (or attempt to)

Al eens een poging gedaan in Leuven, maar ik was blijkbaar nog niet lang genoeg klaar met mijn antibiotica. 

I already tried this one, but I hadn't been off my antibiotics for long enough so that was a no go.

Een van mijn beste vrienden is al 15 jaar vegetariër en ik wil het ook wel eens proberen (voor een maandje dan).

Mascara showdown - L'Oréal versus Maybelline

Allereerst, sorry voor het gebrek aan updates. Vorige week ben ik naar Pukkelpop geweest en ik had natuurlijk weer geen artikels vooruit geschreven. Toen ik zondag terugkwam, was ik echt doodop en de dag erna ben ik beginnen blokken voor mijn herexamen van vandaag. Het was mijn enige, dus ik heb weer lekker veel tijd om te bloggen nu.

First of all, sorry for the lack of updates. Last week I went to a festival in Belgium (Pukkelpop) and I didn't have any posts planned. When I came back on sunday, I was really tired and the next day I started studying for my resit that I had today. It was the only exam I had, so now I've got a lot of time to blog again. 

Vandaag heb ik een review van twee mascara's voor jullie. Mega volume collagene black smoke van L'oréal versus Colossal volum' express smoky eyes van Maybelline. Twee vergelijkbare mascara's dus, beide beloven mega volume en heel donkere wimpers. 

Today I have a review of two mascaras. The Mega volume collagene black smoke from L'oréal and the Colossal volum' express smoky eyes from Maybelline. Two comparable mascaras, both promise mega volume and dark lashes. 

Beide mascara's hebben grote borstels, maar die van L'oréal heeft een iets andere vorm. Het zijn ook niet van die plastiek borstels, maar echt 'harige' borstels als het ware (wat ben ik weer goed in dingen beschrijven vandaag *sarcasm*). De Colossal kost ongeveer 15 Euro en die van L'oréal rond de 17 Euro. Dat is niet zo goedkoop helaas, maar ligt in de lijn van de andere prijzen van deze merken. 

Both mascaras have quite big wands, the L'oreal one has a different shape though. Both of them have bristle brushes, not those flexy plastic wands. The Colossal costs about 15 Euros and the L'oréal one 17 Euros. That's not cheap, but it's comparable to the other prices of these brands (at least in Belgium).

Dit zijn mijn wimpers zonder mascara. Heel licht, bijna onbestaande, ook al heb ik best lange wimpers.

Ik ben best tevreden van de mascara's. De Colossal scheidt je wimpers beter en de formule is niet zo "nat". Met beide mascara's is het wel oppassen dat je geen vlekken maakt, omdat de borsteltjes vrij groot zijn. Ze blijven alletwee ook redelijk lang zitten doorheen de dag. Voor gewoon overdag gebruik ik liever de Colossal, omdat die er iets natuurlijker uitziet, de Mega volume geeft een iets dramatischer effect. Het is maar wat je prefereert natuurlijk. 

I'm quite happy with both of these mascaras. The Colossal is better at separating my lashes and the formula isn't as wet. You do have to be careful with both of these to not get mascara stains on your eyelids, because the wands are so big. The Mega volume as well as the Colossal have good staying power. For the daytime I like using the Colossal more, because it's a little bit more subtle. The Mega Volume has a more dramatic and evening effect. But of course, this is a preference matter.

Favorite summer lip glosses

Ik draag niet zo vaak lip gloss, ik ben meer een lipstick kind of girl. In de zomer heb ik soms wel eens zin om mij weer 16 te voelen en dan grijp ik steevast naar twee glossjes in mijn collectie. Deze zijn al vrij oud, vandaar dat de verpakking er nogal gehavend uitziet. 

I don't wear lip gloss that often, I'm more a lipstick kind of girl. However sometimes (mainly during the summer months) I have the incredible urge to feel 16 again and I always gravitate towards two lip glosses in my collection. These have been in my possession for quite some time now, hence the  not so new looking packaging. 

De eerste is de L'Oréal Glam Shine Blush lipgloss in de kleur Coral Blush (nr. 150). Wel niet de meest originele naam, maar de kleur is wel heel mooi en zomers. De applicator is ook heel fijn. Ik weet dat de meeste mensen geen fan zijn van een sponsapplicators, maar deze brengt echt heel goed aan. Dit ligt misschien aan de vorm van het sponsje, voorts is de applicator ook heel buigzaam (klinkt raar, maar kan het niet beter beschrijven). Deze lip gloss glijdt over je lippen heen en heeft een mooie subtiele shimmer. De kleur zelf blijft ook redelijk goed zitten. 

The first one is the L'Oréal Glam Shine Blush lip gloss in the color Coral Blush (number 150). Original name huh? Well at least the color is gorgeous and summery. The applicator is really nice too. I know that most people aren't a fan of the sponge tip applicators, but this one is quite good actually. Maybe it has something to do with the shape, it's also really bendy (it sounds stupid, but that's the only way I can describe it). This gloss glides on to your lips and has a subtle shimmer. It doesn't wear off that easily either.  

Het tweede glossje komt uit de 1 Euro lijn van ELF (Eyes Lips Face) en heet Candlelight. Deze plakt iets meer dan het glossje van L'Oréal en gebruik ik iets minder. De kleur is minder fel en minder BAM in your face koraal. Toch ook een heel fijne gloss, zeker voor de prijs! Er is namelijk een prijsverschil van ongeveer 10 Euro. 

The second gloss is from the 1 Euro (or Dollar or Pound I suppose) line from ELF. It's called Candlelight. This one is a little stickier than the L'Oréal one (in my opinion) and I use it a little less. The color is less bright and BAM in your face coral. Nevertheless this is a really pretty and good gloss, especially for the price. You can't beat 1 Euro!

My July favorites

Door het warme weer in juli heb ik niet zoveel make-up gedragen. In de zomer zie je er zelf natuurlijk al mooier uit door het lichte kleurtje dat je gezicht krijgt. De onderstaande producten gebruikte ik wel nog heel graag tijdens juli. 

Because of the warm weather in July, I didn't wear too much makeup. In the summer you're naturally more beautiful, thanks to a more tan skin. However, these products I did enjoy during the month of July. 

Het eerste product is een bronzer/highlighter van Mylène. Ik gebruik die op mijn wangen en jukbeenderen of met een lichte hand over heel mijn gezicht. Dit product geeft een super mooie zomerse glow. Vervolgens een van mijn all time favo blushes: Coralista van Benefit, een mooie koraalkleur. Mascara kan niet ontbreken bij mijn maandelijkse favorieten, ik heb namelijk super lichte (maar redelijk lange) wimpers en die wil ik graag benadrukken. Het kleine tubetje is nog een product van Benefit: Girl meets pearl. Hier heb ik ooit een review over geschreven en dit geeft je gezicht ook een super mooie glow. Ten slotte gebruikte ik soms 's avonds als ik ergens naartoe ging de BB cream van Catrice. 

The first one is  a bronzer/highlighter from Mylène. I like using it on my cheekbones or with a light hand all over my face. This gives a beautiful summer glow. The second product is one of my all time favorite blushes: Coralista from benefit, a gorgeous coral color. I almost always use mascara, because I have super light (but quite long lashes) and I want them to be seen! The little tube is "girl meets pearl" also a Benefit product. I already wrote a review of this product and it also gives a nice glow to your face. The last product I sometimes used in the evenings, when I went out. It's the BB cream from Catrice for a light coverage.

Ray Ban Clubmaster II sunglasses

Vorige week kocht ik een nieuwe zonnebril. Ik was eigenlijk op zoek naar een aviator model met gouden montuur en lichte glazen. Ik bracht een bezoekje aan de Grand Optical winkel in Leuven en vond het montuur dat ik zocht. Bleek naderhand dat het model mij toch niet zo mooi stond. Mijn vriend stelde de Clubmaster II voor en ik zou deze zelf nooit geprobeerd hebben eerlijk gezegd. Dit montuur past echter veel beter bij mijn gezicht en heeft een leuke retro look.

I bought a new pair of sunglasses last week. I originally wanted aviators with a golden frame and  light colored glasses. I found the pair that I was looking for, but they didn't suit me that much. My boyfriend proposed the Clubmaster II and to tell you the truth I would have never tried them on myself. This shape suits me a lot better and has a nice retro feel to it. 

De originele Clubmaster werd op de markt gebracht in 1986, met een knipoog naar de jaren '50 en de browline brillen die toen populair waren. Deze zonnebril heeft glazen die naar onder toe iets langer zijn en hij is verkrijgbaar in verschillende maten. De Clubmaster II werd een paar jaar geleden uitgebracht, is "moderner" en alleen te krijgen in maat 49. 

The original Clubmaster was released in 1986, referring tot the fifties and the browline glasses that were immensely popular back then. These glasses are a little bit longer and available in different sizes. The Clubmaster II was released a few years ago, has a more "modern" feel and is only available in a size 49. 

Ik ben helemaal weg van mijn nieuwe zonnebril en met het super mooie weer kan ik hem al veel dragen.

I'm totally in love with my new sunglasses and thanks to the nice weather we have been getting in Belgium lately (shocker right?) I can wear them a lot already.

Osmo Berber Oil

De laatste jaren is er een kleine obsessie rond haarproducten die argan of morrocan oil bevatten. Toen ik een paar maanden geleden de Osmo Berber Oil collectie zag, kon ik deze dan ook niet laten liggen. Is argan oil al die buzz echt waard? Ik kocht een pakket met de olie, de shampoo en de conditioner. Ze zaten allemaal in een mooie bruine doos met oranje letters. Spijtig genoeg geen foto's van de conditioner en shampoo, want die verpakkingen zijn per ongeluk bij het vuilnis beland. 

The last couple of years there has been "some" hype around hair products that contain argan or morrocan oil. I never tried it before, so when I saw the Osmo Berber Oil Collection a while back, I immediately bought it. I purchased the conditioner, oil and shampoo, they all came in a beautiful brown box with orange lettering. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the shampoo and conditioner, because somehow the empty packaging ended up in the garbage. 

De geur van zowel de shampoo, conditioner en olie is lekker en fruitig. De shampoo en de conditioner maken mijn haar heel zacht, maar tegelijkertijd niet te zwaar. Over de olie ben ik ook tevreden. Ik testte eerder al silk therapy van biosilk en chi silk infusion. Ik was toen het meest tevreden over silk therapy, omdat die het lichtst aanvoelde op mijn haar. De olie van Osmo is redelijk dik. Het is het handigst om het pompje te gebruiken dat meegeleverd wordt, zodat je niet teveel olie gebruikt. Ik breng de olie meestal aan op nat/vochtig haar, omdat ik vind dat dat het mooiste resultaat geeft. 

All the products smell delicious, kind of fruity. Both the shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel super soft, but don't weigh it down. I'm really happy with the oil as well. I already tested out chi silk infusion and silk therapy from biosilk in the past. I liked silk therapy the most, because it weighed my hair down the least. The Osmo oil is quite thick. It's best to use the pump that comes with it, so that you don't use too much. I always apply the oil to damp/wet hair, because I find it gives the best results with my hair. 

Zo ziet mijn haar eruit na het gebruik van de olie (wel met andere shampoo en conditioner dan die van Osmo). 

This is the way my hair looks after using the oil (but with a different shampoo and conditioner than the Osmo one).

Ik raad deze set van Osmo heel erg aan. Ik kocht de mijne bij Pro Duo, maar je vindt ze ook online.

I highly recommend this set. I bought mine at Pro Duo, but you can also find them online.

OPI Couture de Minnie - Magazine Cover Mouse

Magazine Cover Mouse is het tweede en laatste lakje dat ik kocht van de limited edition collectie Couture de Minnie van OPI. Het is een liquid sand lakje (het enige dat ik heb trouwens). De lak is vrij dik, maar lakt makkelijk en dekt ook goed. Ik vind de kleur heel mooi, met roze en gouden glans. Ik draag twee laagjes op de onderstaande foto's. 

Magazine Cover Mouse is the second and last polish of the LE Couture de Minnie collection that I bought. It's a liquid sand (the only one that I own). The polish is quite thick, but opaque and it's easy to apply. I like it a lot with it's pink and gold shimmer. I'm wearing two coats in the pictures.
